QL Stretch for Low Back Pain

๐ŸŒŸLow Back Pain๐ŸŒŸ

.

I see a lot of low back pain every day. But lately I’ve been seeing a lot of patients whose pain is contributed to this muscle— the Quadratus Lumborum or QL

.

The QL runs from the bottom of the rib cage, attaches to the sides of the lumbar spine and finally to the Iliac crest.

.

It mostly helps the body extend and bend to the same side .

**Pain is often felt on one side. You can feel the pain when you’re at rest but also when moving like walking, standing, rolling over, twisting or bending to one side.

.

I see this a lot in golfers, patients who do a lot of leaning to one side in their job like hairstylists, and people who spend a lot of time in the car leaning on the middle console etc.

.

If you are experiencing low back pain it may be coming from the QL!

.

Along with Chiropractic Adjustments I find relief with Dry Needling and some stretches/exercises.

.

Here are my two favorite stretches.

.

Give these stretches a try. Which feels the best? Do these stretches give you relief? If they do your low back pain may be coming from the QL.

.

If these stretches don’t give you relief I recommend a proper chiropractic evaluation to find out what could be causing your low back pain. Click the link in the bio and schedule your appointment today!

.

There is no need to suffer from low back pain any longer!

.

Share with someone you know who is experiencing low back pain.
