In this topic, Doc Cherry will discuss the common causes of low back pain and how to fix it with 3 easy to follow exercises for 5 minutes that you can do at home with no special equipment. In this video you will learn that not all back exercises are actually good for you because it depends on the structures involved and the cause of your back pain. This video will give you specific exercises based on the concept of positional bias which means that certain positions of the spine can either aggravate or relieve your symptoms.

A) Flexion Exercise- you experience relief of symptoms when you bend forward, thus all exercises should promote spinal flexion

1) Unilateral Knee to Chest

2) Bilateral Knee to Chest

3). Self stretch for hamstrings

Applicable for conditions such as arthritis of the spine or DJD of the spine, spinal stenosis and spondylolisthesis.

B) Extension Exercises- you experience relief of symptoms when you bend backward, thus all exercises should promote spinal extension

1) Lie in Prone

2) Prone on elbows

3) Prone with elbows extended
