Stretching for Low Back Pain (including Piriformis)

In this video, NAT instructor and Physiotherapist examiner Paul Townley talks about the value of stretching as the finishing phase of manual therapy treatment for clients suffering from lumbar (lower) back pain as well as being a useful part of the patients home regime. The video includes stretching and stability exercises for the erector spinae, multifidi, quadratus lumborum, latissimus dorsi, and piriformis muscles.

This video should be of use to massage and manual therapists who regularly treat lower back pain as well as those suffering from low back pain including those already undergoing treatment.

This video is prepared for educational purposes and is not a substitute for professional advice given in person. If you are suffering from any form of pain you should always seek advice from a suitably qualified therapist or practitioner before undertaking and form of exercise including stretching and mobility exercises as shown above.
