In this video, I share the 5 best stretches to relieve low back pain so that you can experience less discomfort, better posture and a improved exercise performance.

It is no surprise that up to 85% of working people will experience lower back pain at some point in their life. Many of us work sedentary jobs or lead lives that are more sedentary than the human body is designed for.

In Canada, the low back pain-related estimate of the medical costs ranges between 6 and 12 billion dollars annually! (That's a lot of $ spent on treating something so preventable!)

The best preventative care for lower back pain is movement (and being consistent!). Keeping the lumbar spine active throughout the day is important because long periods of sitting can have a negative impact on the spine. The compression of gravity and poor posture triggers discomfort in the spine that can quickly become a long term problem.

In this 18 minute video, I guide you through 5 of my favourite exercises and stretches that will help build more spinal strength, improve range of motion, relieve pain, and ensure the proper delivery of important nutrients to the spine.

By doing these exercise on a regular basis, you can help develop better posture which will aid in the performance of other lower posterior chain exercises such as squats and deadlifts.

Perform each of the following movements for 1-2 minutes each daily. If you have a desk job I would recommend doing them at least twice per day (ideally one of them being half way through your work day.
